Website Design and RebrandiResponsiveng

BACKGROUND

Skagerak International School in Norway is a not-for-profit foundation. They are a group of private schools ESTABLISHED IN 1991. In 2021 the school embraced a fresh strong branding and approached me with the objective of a responsive website aligned to the new branding guidelines. I was really excited because here was an opportunity where you have immense opportunity to showcase skills of Information architecture and creativity.

WHAT WE DID

The first step was to understand the branding idea and what the branding partner had in mind. We were very particular about selection of the images from the school photo repository and ensured it reflected the distinctive persona, voice and culture that the school stands for. When I took up the responsibility to build the website aligning to the new branding guidelines, the driving factor was the sentiment that we all love to think we are logical but what drives the engagement in a website, what drives any decision or what makes one love and feel connected to a website is the EMOTION. The project needed very articulate communication with different departments and the branding partner. One very important part was to build a CMS where the staff at Skagerak could easily manage the website content without distorting the alignments, maintain font consistency so the entire website looks coherent. Content management should be a breeze and not demand the content authors to know the core of WordPress. Nor should they have the fear that an edit could distort a page or template. It was surely a challenge to ensure that there was something in it for all – students, parents, teachers, alumni and of course the prospective customers exploring options that is the best for their child’s future.

KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THE PROJECT
  • Visual appeal
  • Minimal content in a page as netizens have low attention span
  • Consistent patterns to avoid distraction as you browse for content ( Z pattern when reading followed here)
  • Call to Actions where necessary and inherit the branding in a clever way
  • Any content can be made interesting through use of relevant vibrant images
  • Keep in mind load time from day 1
ACHIEVEMENT

This website will surely put Skagerak International School way ahead of IB schools in Norway. The stage is all set to help the school realise the roadmap laid out for SKAGERAK 2025. It should help the school get to inspire more parents and students to become part of the SIS community. The final output has turned out (Gathered from visitor feedbacks), into a beautiful album of memories for the different people associated with the school at any time. They can visualise a school, the ambiance it holds, the cultural diversity it promotes, the global appeal and the freedom it gives to the students to become global citizens.

Nordic Flow enhances their existing website to be CMS enabled to manage their website independently with least dependency on developers

BACKGROUND

This Nordic start-up already had a website in place. It was coincidental that we approached them at a time when they were looking to enhance their website with content and reduce dependency on developers for every small content update. This is a requirement very common for any growing start-up like Nordic Flow.

WHAT WE DID

Easen.pro was the exact kind of service provider they were looking for at that point of time. We had the right skills to deliver the project quickly. We adapted the WordPress CMS to make the content updates very easy for the team at Nordic Flow. It was with very minimal training that the team started updating contents independently. The client was very specific on following the design that existed. We created the new sections keeping in mind the existing design so the entire website looked consistent. And of course made the website responsive as many of their prospective leads had trouble viewing the website in mobile previously. The other aspect was extending flexibility in incorporating changes requested, within the agreed budget, which is a common constraint for most start-ups.

KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THE PROJECT
  • Flexible customer service is key to a happy customer
  • Listening skills are very important to determine or comprehend any customer query or request
  • Problem solving skills is good, but timeliness in solving any issue/request is equally important to ensure client satisfaction
ACHIEVEMENT

The project was well planned from day 1. Start-up teams are always busy but we ensured smooth communication to have the website launch within few weeks.
